Introduction​

The FoBE Breakout MFP-HUB is an interface converter that splits a 6-pin MFP (Multi-Function Port) into two 4-pin I²C interfaces. This allows for connecting multiple I²C devices to a single MFP port, simplifying wiring and expanding connectivity options.

Key Features​

  • Interface Conversion: Converts one 6-pin MFP interface to two 4-pin I²C interfaces.
  • Flexible Connectivity: Provides one 6-pin JST SH1.0 connector for MFP input and two 4-pin JST SH1.0 connectors for I²C output.
  • On-board Pull-ups: Each I²C port is equipped with pull-up resistors, which can be individually disconnected via jumpers.
  • Power Indicator: An on-board power LED indicates the board's status, which can be disabled for low-power applications.

Mechanical dimensions​

FoBE Breakout MFP-HUB is a single-sided 25.4mm x 25.4mm (1" x 1") 1.6mm thick PCB. Fixing by 4 x 1.6mm Screw holes.

Interfaces​

The module provides one 6-pin MFP connector and two 4-pin I²C connectors.

Advanced​

Jumper​

The module features three jumper pads:

InterfaceDescription
LED-JUMPERDisconnect this jumper to turn off the power LED for further power saving.
IIC1 PULL-UPDisconnect this jumper to disable the pull-up resistors for the I²C1 port.
IIC2 PULL-UPDisconnect this jumper to disable the pull-up resistors for the I²C2 port.

Usage Example​

Connection with FoBE Quill and I²C Devices​

Connect the FoBE Breakout MFP-HUB to a FoBE Quill board using the MFP cable, and connect two I²C devices to the I²C ports.
